Andrea's mom threw a baby shower on Saturday and people were SO incredibly generous. I couldn't believe how many gifts baby received. We are officially over the limit of blankets that any baby can use! I plan on posting pictures from the shower soon, but thank you to everyone who came to the shower for making it wonderful. And thank you for the gifts, you really spoiled Andrea and me (and Baby). Also a huge thank you to Mariann for hosting such a lovely event.
Update: Shower Pictures
Today's appointment with the Obstitrician went well. We scheduled it for Tuesday so we could meet one of the other doctors in the office, in case they end up delivering baby. Ultimately we ended up waiting a really long time to have a short "Hello, how are you, goodbye...", but if she ends up being the delivery doctor, we probably will be glad we did. However, we aren't going to schedule another appointment to meet the third doctor. It just isn't worth 2 hours for an appointment, when scheduling for a later time gets us in and out in 40 minutes.

Quick Friday Update
Childbirth Education class was good. Andrea was very restless by the end, but she found it more engaging than the week before (too bad the instructor couldn't split the info more evenly, but it worked out well for me).
Have a good weekend!

Perpetual Motion
Baby keeps growing! Andrea has been especially tired the last few days and it seems to correspond with a lot of energy going to Baby. Also Baby has continued to be really active. I can see either head or butt moving from one side of Andrea's stomach to the other side. It's so amazing to think about there being a little person in there. I'm sure that's what every parent thinks about, but it's our turn!
Today is Andrea's last day of work at InnerWorks, after this she'll hopefully have some time to prepare for baby and rest more during the day (she seems to focus on the former, while I'm hoping for the latter). Tonight is our Childbirth Education Class #3. I have not yet watched the video from last week's class that occurred while I was gone, but Andrea assurred me that I would be able to go tonight without having seen it.
October is coming fast!

Devastating News
Not only is Katie not a candidate for the surgery, but the Doctor said
that she most likely has the canine version of Alzeheimer's Disease. I
cannot even get my head around it...
Second time is NOT a charm...
So today is a big day for news: This morning was our second ultra-sound appointment. Unfortunately, because Baby was hiding and possibly because our technician was not very experienced, we didn't get pictures that were nearly as good as the first ones. However, it was fun to get a peak at Baby again and this time I brought the video camera. Unfortunately, since I'm going to be in Germany next week, I don't know when I'll get a chance to look at the video (not to mention that my priority should be getting the nursery ready!!), but there may be a pre-natal BabyCast if time permits...
The second big new item today is Katie's Eye Exam, but that's going on as we speak, so no definitive news yet. I'll post an update as soon as I hear from Andrea how the tests went. If the retina looks good (no high risk of detaching), then we are planning to go forward with the Cataract removal. Keep your fingers crossed.

In the beginning...
Hello Everybody,
Welcome to the Cordova-Caddes family blog. My hope is this will provide an easy way for all of our friends and family to receive updates (text, pictures, and video) about Baby Cordova-Caddes. With that in mind I'm trying to set everything up now, because once Baby is here it will be hard to set aside the time to update an existing channel, forget trying to set one up from scratch!
